Now is the winter of our discontent...
Yes, winter is here but at least, here in Victoria, we are golfing rather snowshoeing like our prairie funk uncles. We would like to give a big thank you to the people who made our last trip so memorable. Julie, for getting us to play for Frank's birthday (with the Blues Brothers theme it was like having dinner on the movie set) Mike, at Mikey's Juke Joint (always a great gig) Cousin Sue in The Peace and the friendly folks at The Stony Nakoda Resort. We are looking forward to seeing you all again soon but first... Let's get this winter thing out of the way. - Nov 21st, 2008
Prairie Summer...
We are on the road in Alberta right now and the gigs have been as hot as the weather has been. Our night in Peace River was amazing. The Underground Music Society always put on a great gig and the crowd is ready to party from the word "go". You can most definitely feel the love as they treat the bands very well. We have added photos of our tour with Donald Ray Johnson and The Pinkertons this past summer, so check them out! - Sep 30th, 2008
It's been a summer of fun....
Lot's of great gigs, new fans, CDs being sold and sharing the stage with a lot of good acts has characterized the summer we've been having this year. The folks from the Nanaimo Blues Society treated us like gold and we thank them for a fantastic couple of days! Our little tour with Donald Ray was truly memorable but there is still more to come. We will be at the Blues Bash in Victoria on August 30th at 4pm and we will follow that with a night of the blues at the Harewood Arms in Nanaimo. September will see us back in Alberta but we will talk more about that soon... - Aug 25th, 2008
Summer Rolls Along...
We are back from our tour in Alberta. It was great playing for our fans in Edmonton and Calgary. A big THANK YOU to Mike Purcell and Darcy Clendenning. The 15' high stage at the Grey Eagle Casino was truly something new for us! While we were in Calgary we were at the ceremony of "Canada's Newest Citizen", (and arguably one of it's best blues singers)Mr. Donald Ray Johnson. It was hilarious to hear all the new citizens from all over the world repeating the oath in French. Congratulations, Don! The summer festival season continues with appearances at The Nanaimo Marine Festival, The Nanaimo Blues Fest, and The Victoria Blues Bash. We will also be featured on a segment of the A-Channel's "The New Canoe" this summer so watch for it in the TV listings....until next time... - Jul 13th, 2008
